A Letter from Our Founder — Nima Salami

When I was a child, my family fled Iran in search of safety.

Each time we crossed a border, my mother — who lives with a chronic illness — lost her medical history.

New doctors, new tests, new treatments, but the same uncertainty.

The systems meant to heal her kept starting over.

Years later, as I studied computer science and cybersecurity, I realized the problem wasn’t just medical — it was structural.

Healthcare data is fragmented, locked away, and often too sensitive to move.

As a result, the people who could benefit most from it — patients, physicians, and researchers — are left working with incomplete information.

That realization shaped the mission of OASYS NOW.

We are building technology that allows health data to be used safely, without being exposed — so that its value can serve everyone.

For years, I’ve been researching privacy-by-design frameworks that make secure data sharing possible in healthcare.

The goal is to enable the safe secondary use of health data: to let hospitals, scientists, and AI systems learn from it — while protecting every individual behind it.

Imagine a future where AI can connect each patient’s unique medical history to the full landscape of available knowledge — approved medicines, clinical guidelines, trial opportunities, and the latest research.

A kind of recommender system for health, built not to replace doctors, but to empower them — and to give patients access to the most suitable treatment options anywhere in the world.

That’s what we’re working on.

Not theoretical innovation, but practical trust — technology that hospitals can rely on, researchers can build upon, and patients can believe in.

OASYS NOW is our effort to make healthcare both smarter and more humane.

To prove that privacy and progress don’t have to compete.

And to ensure that the systems we build today will still be serving patients long after we’re gone.
